HABANOLIDE ® is a very powerful musk. It combines the strength and tenacity of the aromatic musks with the pleasantness and elegance of the macrocyclic musks. Excellent in all applications. | Extremely elegant musk odour. Very performing musk note typical of macrocyclic musks with a waxy and slightly metallic undertone |
In the words of the authors of Scent and Chemistry, Habanolide “became trendy because of [its] metallic character reminiscent of hot-ironed linen, usually considered an undesirable side aspect by perfumers. However, this daring urban high-tech’ facet can provide some special radiant freshness for which the term of white musks’ was coined. The prototype white musk accord was created by Alberto Morillas in answer of the brief for Emporio Armani White for Her (Armani, 2001)”, where Habanolide is combined “with 8.8% of Helvetolide.” Their analysis finds Morillas still exploring this hot iron theme in recent years: his Oxymusc (A Lab on Fire, 2014) contains as much as 33% Habanolide, this time with the support of “Galaxolide and Exaltolide for a little bit of floralcy, Muscenone and Musk Ketone for an animalic warmth…” | Musk, sweet, powdery, hot-iron |
